The Excalibur Group Wins Second Gold HIRE Vets Medallion Award.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (November 6, 2019) – Today, the U.S. Department of Labor Veterans’ Employment Training Service (DOL VETS) awarded The Excalibur Group with a second Gold HIRE Vets Medallion Award in a ceremony at the Great Hall at the U.S. Department of Labor in Washington, DC.

The HIRE Vets Medallion Award program recognizes employers throughout the U.S. who demonstrate a strong commitment to recruiting, hiring and retaining our Nation’s veterans. DOL VETS has commented, “by meeting the criteria required for a Gold Medallion Program Demonstration Award, The Excalibur Group demonstrated a model of patriotism worthy of praise as well as a recognition of the value veterans bring to the workplace.” The Excalibur Group was 1 of only 36 companies to be recognized in the U.S. with the Gold award for medium-sized employers this year.

The Excalibur Group has engaged veterans in meaningful work around the country after their service for over a decade. The HIRE Vets Gold award qualifications, among other items, includes hiring 7% of a company’s workforce with veterans who achieve a 75% retention rate. The current rate of veterans on Excalibur’s team is above 25%.

Excalibur supports the employment of our veterans with methodologies that hone-in on a veteran’s skill sets, which in addition to their specialized expertise often includes excellent resource management, dedication to mission, and outstanding business ethics.

Jessica Audsley, Excalibur’s Director of Programs and a U.S. Army Veteran herself, helps place transitioning soldiers with job opportunities within the company. She expressed, “Prioritizing our support of transitioning service members on their job search and helping match opportunities with skilled Veterans leads to success. Not only for our clients and their mission, but it also provides meaningful civilian careers for these service members, allowing them to continue serving their country proudly.”

Excalibur actively participates in Soldier For Life Transition Assistance Programs (SFL-TAP) around the country, has worked with the Library of Congress on a veteran history project, and as a team, embarked on the Army 10 Miler in DC. Employing U.S. Veterans is part of The Excalibur Group’s company culture and aims to celebrate the talents and skills of those who have offered service to the nation.
