The Excalibur Group Wins Gold HIRE Vets Medallion Award

WASHINGTON, D.C. (November 8, 2018) – Today, the U.S. Department of Labor Veterans’ Employment Training Service (DOL VETS) awarded The Excalibur Group with a Gold HIRE Vets Medallion Award in a ceremony at the Great Hall at the U.S. Department of Labor in Washington, DC.

The purpose of the HIRE Vets Medallion Award is to recognize employers who hire and retain veterans, including their efforts to establish employee development programs and veteran specific benefits to improve retention. DOL VETS has commented “by meeting the criteria required for a Gold Medallion Program Demonstration Award, The Excalibur Group demonstrated a model of patriotism worthy of praise as well as a recognition of the value veterans bring to the workplace.”

The Excalibur Group has engaged veterans in meaningful work around the country after their service for over a decade. The HIRE Vets Gold award qualifications, among other items, includes hiring 7% of a company’s workforce with veterans who achieve a 75% retention rate. The current rate of veterans on Excalibur’s team is above 25%, with a retention rate over 85%.

Excalibur supports the employment of veterans with methodologies that hone in on veteran’s skills, which in addition to their expertise often includes excellent resource management, dedication to mission, and outstanding business ethics. Jessica Audsley, Excalibur’s Senior Military Talent Acquisition Specialist, who is a U.S. Army Veteran herself, helps place transitioning soldiers with job opportunities within the company. She expressed, “We’re passionate about bringing these folks onto the team. The skills and knowledge our service members bring from their time in the armed forces translates nicely into civilian careers if they’re given the right opportunity. That’s a huge part of why we work so hard to help transitioning members join the workforce.”

Excalibur actively participates in Soldier For Life Transition Assistance Programs (SFL-TAP) around the country, has worked with the Library of Congress on a veteran history project, and as a team, embarked on the Army 10 Miler in DC. Employing U.S. Veterans is part of The Excalibur Group’s company culture and aims to celebrate the talents and skills of those who have offered service to the nation.
