WASHINGTON, D.C. (November 10, 2020) – Today, the U.S. Department of Labor Veterans’ Employment Training Service (DOL VETS) will award The Excalibur Group with a Gold HIRE Vets Medallion Award in a virtual ceremony from the Great Hall at the U.S. Department of Labor in Washington, DC.

DOL’s HIRE Vets Medallion Program is the only federal level award to recognize employers of all sizes for their efforts to recruit, employ, and retain our nation’s veterans. DOL VETS has commented “by meeting the criteria required for a Gold Medallion Program Demonstration Award, The Excalibur Group demonstrated a model of patriotism worthy of praise as well as a recognition of the value veterans bring to the workplace.” Excalibur is the only medium-sized business in the District of Columbia to achieve this award, along with eleven others in the small and large categories. Under 500 companies achieved the Gold status nationally.

The Excalibur Group has engaged veterans in meaningful work around the country after their service for over a decade. The HIRE Vets Gold award qualifications, among other items, includes hiring 7% of a company’s workforce with veterans who achieve a 75% retention rate. The current rate of veterans on Excalibur’s team is above 33%, with a retention rate over 85%.

From resume feedback and career coaching we have been uniquely positioned in these alliances to help Vets transition smoothly. Our recruiters have also facilitated enhanced workplace skills.
