The Excalibur Group Wins Fifth Consecutive HIRE Vets Gold Medallion

WASHINGTON, D.C. (November 9, 2022)- Today, U.S. Secretary of Labor Martin J. Walsh of the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) awarded The Excalibur Group with their fifth consecutive Gold HIRE Vets Medallion Award in a virtual ceremony.

The Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act (HIRE Vets Act) Medallion program is the only federal award program that recognizes employers of all sizes who successfully recruit, hire, and retain our nation’s veterans. Excalibur has demonstrated excellence in commitment to hiring veterans while ensuring they have long-term careers that utilize the skills acquired through their military service. This will be The Excalibur Group’s fifth consecutive year earning The HIRE Vets Gold Medallion.

For over a decade, The Excalibur Group has provided meaningful work opportunities for veterans. HIRE Vets commented that Excalibur has successfully “recognized that veterans are essential in the workplace” and thank Excalibur for their efforts in “recruiting and maintaining work for our nation’s veterans.” Excalibur was 1 of 835 companies nationwide to receive a HIRE Vets Medallion and are 1 of 40 companies to receive the award for 5 consecutive years.

The Excalibur Group successfully places veterans in meaningful positions around the country after their service and met all requirements necessary to receive the HIRE Vets Gold award, including hiring 7% of the company’s workforce with veterans who achieve a 75% retention rate. Excalibur exceeds both hire and retention requirements, with a 33% hire rate and a 100% retention rate during 2021.

This year, Excalibur will dedicate the HIRE Vets award to Excalibur employee Mary Beamon. Mary, a US Army veteran, is an analyst for the Army Training Management System helpdesk who has been with Excalibur since 2016.

Excalibur has partnered with multiple Veteran support programs throughout the country boosting their resource offerings for transitioning service members. Excalibur has formed multiple Soldier For Life Transition Assistance Programs (SFL-TAP) partnerships around the US and work with multiple Department of Defense programs and universities with a high number of veteran graduates to create programming and find jobs. During 2021-2022, Excalibur’s hosted their first virtual hiring fair marketed towards veterans and executed multiple digital marketing campaigns across social media that provided pertinent information to military wives and families.

The well-being of the veteran/military family is essential to Excalibur’s business model because many of their team members are also members of military families. Their employees range from veterans who transitioned into the civilian workforce to spouses and close family.
