Excalibur Selected for Turner Construction Management School
WASHINGTON, D.C. (July 1, 2018) — Excalibur successfully completed the rigorous Turner Construction Management Course after being a selected small business to participate in the Spring/Summer 2018 cohort.
Excalibur’s Vice President, Emily Marasco, attended the course during the spring and summer with fellow executives in the industry at the Howard University campus. With the experience and successful completion of this program, Excalibur’s capabilities increased to include certified construction management contract support. The construction industry is experiencing exponential growth; Excalibur will benefit by adding this capacity to our portfolio.
The Turner School of Construction Management for small, women-owned and minority-owned businesses is the oldest community outreach program in Turner’s history. Initiated in 1969, the program has since become an opportunity to develop strategic business relationships with minority and women-owned firms. Today, the Turner School of Construction Management is offered in more than 30 of Turner’s offices nationwide.
The coursework included sessions including labor regulations, contract management, and construction financing and bonding, estimating, safety and compliance, as well as business development.
