What is the DC Workforce Job Placement Program?
DC’s Department of Human Services awarded The Excalibur Group a contract to help provide job placement to DC resident’s that were under or unemployed. The Adell C. White Workforce Center, opened in October 2018 as a program of The Excalibur Group, to assist job seekers in their pursuit of sustainable employment. Through a holistic job placement approach, which includes job readiness assistance education, Excalibur is bridging the public/private sector gap in collaborative employment solutions.
Why should your company participate?
As of October 2017, more than 11,450 families and 21,000 children in the DC area have received subsidized benefits that are specifically addressed by this program out of need.
Excalibur is encouraging its current clients and all other DMV employers to identify positions that can be directed toward the work ready participants in their JP Program. Candidates range from having GEDs to PhDs and bring a broad spectrum of skills and a sincere motivation and desire to find stable employment.
Additionally, WOTC is a Federal tax credit available to employers who hire and retain veterans and/or individuals from other target groups with significant barriers to employment. Employers claim about $1 billion in tax credits each year under the WOTC program.
